Megan Houghton has over 18 years’ experience in CEO, senior executive and management consultant roles working across all aspects of business from corporate strategy to operational improvement.

Megan has extensive experience in the energy, water and sustainability sectors with previous roles as Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers and head of strategy for Energex. Megan is a non-executive director for UnityWater, providing water distribution and retail services to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, and Urbis, the national planning and property advisory firm as well as a previous non-executive director of Wide Bay Water Corporation.

In 2010 Megan was named Telstra Queensland Business Woman of the Year and in October 2012 was named by Australian Financial Review and Westpac as one of ‘Australia’s 100 Women of Influence’. Megan was also selected as one of two Australians for the US Department of State’s Visiting Leaders program, focusing on climate change and renewable energy.As CEO of CitySmart Pty Ltd, Brisbane’s sustainability agency, Megan is now leading a fresh approach to sustainability, facilitating collaborations that deliver economic and environmental benefits to businesses and households, commercial returns for corporate partners and sustainability benefits for cities and regions.
